E-learning Instructional Designer – 12 month Fixed Term Contract –

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce content including media for bespoke e-learning and training solutions
  • Be able to use, update and upload on the GCA LMS
  • Develop robust assessments to evaluate effectiveness of learning content
  • Analyse the educational needs and learning outcomes of modules
  • Work with horticultural specialists to design course materials and assessments
  • Apply instructional design theories and practice
  • Design and develop innovative elearning content in a structured and well written format to GCA standards

Candidate skills & Experience:

  • Degree educated or relevant experience
  • Instructional design experience using a range of elearning programmes including flash and articulate
  • Detailed knowledge of training theories, methodologies and techniques, particularly in relation to the use of technology in learning
  • Organised self-starter with an enthusiastic “can-do” and common sense approach
  • Good understanding of the commercial e-learning sector
  • Proven experience of working on horticultural content advantageous

Project management skills evidenced by:

  • Very good eye for detail
  • A flexible and creative writing style with excellent spelling and grammar
  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent horticultural specialist relationships
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on several Modules simultaneously
  • Ability to think in a creative and innovative way
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
