This e-learning module is aimed at managers with the responsibility for managing working parents (individuals or team that includes new working parents).
Working parents comprise a significant proportion of the workforce. In two-thirds of families with children in the UK, both parents work. There are a number of benefits of catering for the needs of working parents through family policies and flexible working, for example, it can result in a more committed and motivated workforce, reduce staff turnover and strengthen family units for employees.
This module on managing working parents has been developed to provide learners with an increased understanding of the law and how it can be applied to meet the needs of working parents. On completion, learners will have the knowledge and skills required to manage requests for Paternity Leave, Parental Leave and Flexible working requests and be able to identify which types of leave are appropriate for different situations
